 Kristen Magnacca, author of Girlfriend to Girlfriend: A Fertility Companion and Love and Infertility: Survival Strategies for Balancing Infertility, Marriage, and Life is an expert in the emotional and personal challenges that women face while enduring fertility treatment. A board member and volunteer of RESOLVE of the Baystate, a non-profit support and information organization for infertile couples, Kristen testified before the US Senate in the spring of 2000 about the importance of government funding for fertility research and treatment. Along with her husband, Kristen created a program of seminars, Strategies for Survival: Balancing Infertility, Marriage, and Life, Your Fertility Game Plan, and Romance and Infertility: Creating an Enchanted Marriage, which she delivers to organizations upon request.
Kristen has served as an expert on the emotional aspects of infertility for national publications and broadcast media including NBC’s The Today Show, Woman’s World magazine, PBS’ Health Week and The Boston Globe. Now 41, Magnacca founded the Cricket’s Corner Learning Center in Chicopee, Mass. when she was just 22 years old. Over a ten-year period, Magnacca developed the preschool into a childcare center, which she ran with a staff of 18.
She subsequently served as the Chairman of the Board of the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Chamber Education Committee. In 1995 Kristen and Mark Magnacca founded the Insight Development Group, a corporate training and coaching company that is retained by some of the largest financial institutions and service organizations nationwide.
