| Meet The HTMAF
Team |
|
This is our favorite shoestring labor o' love. We have
wild dreams about How to Make a Family becoming our sole occupation.
In the meantime, we work our day jobs, tend to our families and our
selves, and focus on web work in the wee hours.
Senses of humor aside, we have high expectations of ourselves and
like to think that 'integrity' is our collective middle name.
Mostly, though, we try to see the silver linings peeking through
life's clouds.
This is who we are:
|
| Tracy Morris, Editorial Director |
|
Donna Morris, Technical
Assistant |
Tracy is a 'retired' social worker, writer
and mom to son Tobias. Tracy works out of
her home in Texas, where she lives with her husband and son in the
'burbs with a big old dog and two demanding cats.
She writes about what she knows best -- family and life stuff -- and
has aspirations of evolving beyond articles in chirpy magazines and
writing serious literature that will change the world. Her most
frequent unwritten thought: "Why can't we all just get
along?"Tracy uses far too many ;-) in her writings.
Prior to being a work-at-home mother, Tracy's professional
experience
encompassed 15 years in the fields of substance abuse prevention,
residential
adolescent psychiatric treatment, foster care, battered women's
shelters, HIV
services, and hospitals -- all of which may explain why, second only
to playing
with Toby, her favorite activity is "being alone with her
computer."
|
|
Donna is currently dog-paddling through a mid-life crisis
that has led her back to college. After eight years of acquiring
on-demand computing experience (learn it when you need it), she is
pursuing an associates degree in Computer Science Technology - PC
Support Specialization. She supports herself mostly by providing
her assorted skills to local non-profit organizations.
When Donna is not sitting in a classroom or at a computer, you are
likely to find her sitting in front of her TV. She is still
mourning over the loss of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," cancelled in
2003. In between semesters she will also crack open whatever book
of fiction she may have on hand.
Single by choice, Donna is a firm believer in making a family out of
all of the people in her life. She is constantly amazed at the
support and encouragement she receives from her network of
friends.

| Shelley Cudly,
Managing Editor Emerita |
|
More About Who We Are |
| Shelley Cudly, former Managing Editor of
HTMAF and current Woman Extraordinaire, was with HTMAF when our
doors opened in 2002. Then, her home-cooked brood grew exponentially
for a total crowd of five in the frigid flatlands, while her way
with words and wit (and numbers) garnered her heaps more praises and
raises (and all the responsibility those bring) at her big-time
trading job. Who knew such things could happen in the corn fields?
With a sniff and a wave, we bid adieu to Shelley in December 2005
(we're frankly amazed she lasted that long here), so she could
breathe deep in between all those hats she wears. We're not
complaining or whining, but Shel knows that she can wander back here
to leisurely-paced HTMAF whenever the corn trading gets to be, well,
just too much.
More about Shel:
Shelley has been working in the information technology field since
1997 and is currently a business analyst for an on-line trading
company
headquartered in Nebraska. Her employment journey has taken a
winding path; past
credits include membership director at a country club, conference
planner for an
insurance company, editorial assistant for an Albanian newspaper,
assistant
director of residence life for a small college and nanny.
Shelley is mom to four children, so a lot
of her spare time is
spent driving to sports practice, playing dress-up, saving Fischer
Price people from bus overturns, changing diapers, pretending to eat
plastic food and coloring.
She also enjoys reading (during the 10 minute window she can stay
awake right
before bed), writing and working with her husband, Steve, on their
church’s
website. |
