FAMILY is the foundation, the most important of all groups, the basis of everything else. We think it's funny that the study of family groups is so new. We're not sure how we ever got into space or mapped the human genome with as limited an understanding of family as we have had...Think we're overstating the obvious? |

Think about it -- on a big scale.
Lofty, we know. We figure we'll reach for the stars with this site, and perhaps, we'll get a little elevated. Aiming for the middle ground is not where we're at -- you'll find we have opinions here, and we state them. That doesn't mean we don't accept that you have yours, too, and you'll be just as free to toot that horn. Here, controversy is our friend. Civility is requested, certainly -- after all, what would family groups be if they were always at each others' throats? Here, humor is essential. Once you cannot laugh at your experience, well, what is left? We fully hope to be laughed with and expect to be laughed at while you're here. Here, divergent thinking is crucial. Look, we all know what we've been taught about the family. In fact, we dare say that most of you first-timers to our site are feeling pretty smug right about now. But when was the last time you thought to yourself, "Gee, ya know, the world's such a beautiful place, I think everything that's ever been done by our ancestors was right on the mark..."? Here, you are welcome. Regardless of your opinions, your fear or love of controversy, your sense of humor or lack thereof, your tendencies toward being square pegs or otherwise -- come on in, the family is waiting. |
